Access Management

I want to connect (or reconnect) to a company within MX.

  • If you’ve lost access, it might be due to inactivity or an incorrect email address. Please check with the person who created your account. If you need to connect or reconnect, reach out to a contact at the company providing the MX accounts. They can usually re-apply on your behalf or check your access. Account Management

How do I upgrade my account?

  • Upgrading to a paid account allows you to add or remove users in your MX environment independently of any existing customers. Click here to get started.

Data Management

How long is data stored?

  • Data is stored until it either reaches an expiry date or a set number of downloads has been performed.

What if I want to extend the life of the transaction?

  • Your administrator can add more downloads or extend the expiry date, offering additional but controlled flexibility.

What about the history of the transaction?

  • While uploaded data is deleted after a specified period, a full record of what was sent, to whom, and whether it was downloaded is maintained.

How easy is it to add new users?

  • With just an email address and company name, new users will receive an email asking them to complete their registration.

User Management

Can I use our account to work with other companies?

  • Absolutely! With your MX account, your administrator can easily add internal colleagues or external organizations, streamlining your data exchange process.

One of my customers already uses MX. What does that mean for me?

  • Your MX access is linked to your email address, allowing you to work across multiple MX customers effortlessly.

How easy is it to add new users?

  • New users can be added with just an email address and company name. They’ll receive an email to complete their registration.

How many admins can you have on an account?

  • There’s no limit to the number of administrators you can have in your secure network. You can choose to have only internal admins or assign one for each external organization—it’s entirely up to you.

Notifications

Are there automatic email notifications?

  • Yes, emails are sent to both the initiator and recipients to confirm when data has been uploaded, downloaded, or is about to expire.

Security

Can external users see each other?

  • No, only the paying customer can see every user. Users are unaware of each other when data is sent to multiple recipients.

What if I’m not sending engineering data?

  • MX is optimized for engineering data exchange with a focus on a closed address book, large data performance, and robust audit history, supporting any scenario where control and history are important.

Installation and Maintenance

Will you need to come on-site to install MX?

  • No, MX runs entirely on a web browser and requires no installation. Feature updates and maintenance are done over-the-air (OTA), ensuring uninterrupted service.
